The father of Royals’ pitcher Edinson Volquez died earlier today in the Dominican Republic, according to Enrique Rojas from ESPN. Volquez is the starting pitcher for the Royals tonight and is currently pitching in game 1 of the World Series just a few hours after learning of his father’s passing.
