The New York Giants signed veteran quarterback Russell Wilson to a one-year deal this week, solidifying their quarterback room for the 2025 season. In addition to Wilson, the Giants also have the recently-signed Jameis Winston and Tommy DeVito on their roster.

Given how disparate the personalities of Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston are, NFL fans — likely everyone except New York Giants fans, that is — cannot wait to see the duo in action together, with the pair being compared to a buddy cop comedy.

Wilson is coming off a 2024 season in which he started 11 games for the Pittsburgh Steelers, completing 63.7% of his passes for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions. Winston, on the other hand, appeared in 12 games for the Cleveland Browns, completed 61.1% of his passes for 2,121 yards, 13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

“The conversations between Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in the quarterback room need to be televised,” one viral tweet suggested.

“Imagine a rookie QB getting mentored by Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston. It’s like Pinky and the Brain raising a f—— kid,” another hilariously summarized.

“Justin Fields, Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston all failing will bring out generational WFAN calls from Staten Island,” a New York City sports fan predicted.

“Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston and Tommy DeVito has the potential to be the funniest quarterback room of all-time.”

“Imagine Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston as a buddy cop movie. It’s going to be glorious.”

The New York Giants, facing a make-or-break season for head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen, are currently predicted to finish last in their division behind the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Commanders, and Dallas Cowboys.
