Ryan Garcia has called it quits from boxing as he faces a lengthy suspension.
After defeating Devin Haney last month, Garcia tested positive for Ostarine, a performance-enhancing drug.
According to Boxing Scene’s Lance Pugmire, the NY State Athletic Commission is set to hold a hearing on Friday to determine the length of Garcia’s possible suspension.
The New York State Athletic Commission will convene by the end of this week to render a decision on @RyanGarcia, who confronts a fine, suspension and overturning of his victory over @Realdevinhaney on April 20, @boxingscene has learned. Story coming.

Haney insinuated on social media that Garcia could face a two-year ban from the sport.
Ahead of the NYSAC hearing, Garcia took to social media to announce his retirement from boxing.
I’m officially retired

Garcia claims that he’s going to get into acting or singing due to the “corruption” in boxing.
Yall may catch me out and about but as far as boxing I don’t know
There is so much corruption I’m over it
I may do acting or singing
I’ll still be training but I’m hurt and done with it and everyone
The sad part is I’m a great boxer
And I entertain and knock people out…

Garcia was mocked for announcing his retirement just as the NYSAC is meeting to suspend him.
Lololololololololol. Just so happens to coincide with when NYSAC about to provisionally suspend him pending a hearing to determine the length of the suspension and officially overturn the result of the Haney fight. https://t.co/g6rDGvb5bB
