Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Ryan Williams put the college football world on notice with an insane performance against Georgia last Saturday. Deebo Samuel believes he could do the same in the NFL next year if it were allowed.

The San Franciso pass catcher claims Williams would be one-and-done in the NCAA if football implemented the same draft rule as basketball.

Samuel sat down on his Cleats and Convos podcast to talk about the budding Alabama star.

“The body control, the spin move, breaking the tackles and running down the sidelines – that little 17-year-old is gifted, for sure,” Samuel said. “I feel like if it was like the basketball world… I think that young fella would be one-and-done if there was such a thing.”

Ryan Williams showed out against the Bulldogs to the tune of a six-reception, 177-yard performance.

He was seen hauling in acrobatic catch after acrobatic catch while making Georgia defenders look silly. As star players do, he saved his most incredible play for the biggest moment.

Georgia battled back from a 28-0 deficit to take its first lead of the game late in the fourth quarter. Just one play later, though, Williams hauled in a 75-yard touchdown while shaking a pair of Bulldog defenders on his way to the endzone.

Williams saw his NIL value immediately double after that game, a number that should only continue to rise as he continues his college career.

Unfortunately for pro fans, his NFL debut will have to wait.

College players must be three years removed from high school in order to be draft eligible. Ryan Williams did what he could to speed up that process by reclassifying his high school class.

Still, he won’t be available to NFL teams until after his junior season at Alabama.
