The San Antonio Spurs have released an official statement after an old lady was video taped texting someone questions about how the Latino fans in the crowd could afford the tickets. San Antonio has the largest majority-Hispanic population in the United States with 64%.
At the Spurs vs. Phoenix Sun game in San Antonio on Thursday night, an elderly White woman was caught on video texting someone on her cell phone about the “crazy Hispanic fans” in the crowd, and wondering how they can afford the tickets.

San Antonio Spurs released an official statement after an old White lady was caught texting someone about ‘crazy Hispanic fans’ affording tickets
The video racked up millions of views across social media in the days since being posted, leading to the Spurs front office to release a statement on Friday, March 20.
“All of us in the Spurs organization are proud to live in San Antonio, a city that shines and thrives because of the culture and contributions of our Latino community,” the statement reads.
“Inclusion is a foundation for the San Antonio Spurs. We strive to provide an environment, in our facilities and across our community, that celebrates belonging and respect regardless of race or ethnicity. Por Vida [For Life].”
