San Jose State Football Program Finds Hilarious Way To Deal With Goose Poop Problem

The San Jose State Football program had a problem.

A very, very messy problem.

According to the Spartans, geese routinely flock to their practice field and poop everywhere throughout the night. So, how did SJSU address this goose poop problem?

Well, they got creative.

To keep geese off San Jose State’s practice fields, school bought 4 fake plastic coyotes & place on the fields each night. The reason: the geese “s— everywhere.” SJSU got tired of having to clean it up daily & move coyotes around each night to fool the geese. So far, so good,” Action Network’s Brett McMurphy reported on Thursday night.

Well, that’s one way to fix things.

Now for the matter of fixing up their football program. The Spartans went 7-6 a year ago and had winning seasons in three of the last four years. But head coach Brent Brennan left in the offseason to replace Jedd Fisch as the head coach at the University of Arizona.

Now San Jose State had turned to former Navy head coach Ken Niumatalolo.

“I love being here,” Niumatalolo recently said at Mountain West Conference media day. “It’s been an awesome experience in the four or five months that I’ve been here. After my great experience at the Naval Academy, I knew I wanted to get closer to the West. I’m originally from Hawaii, so besides the University of Hawaii – coming to California was the closest I could get. I feel very fortunate to be here.”

Niumatalolo will not, however, bring the triple option with him from Navy to San Jose State. Instead, Craig Stutzman will handle play calling as the team’s offensive coordinator.

“The league recognizes the great teams they (Hawaii) had there with Coach Rolo and Coach Stutzmann. It’s going to be very similar to that. Coach Stutzmann will also bring a little bit of his touch and his flair. It’s going to be similar to that,” Niumatalolo said of his new offense.

New offense? Check. Goose poop problem? Solved.

The San Jose State Spartans look like a force to be reckoned with in 2024.
