While the start of the NFL season is still a few weeks away, NFL RedZone host Scott Hanson seems to already be in midseason form.

Responding to a hater on Twitter who shared his hot take that “RedZone sucks and is a complete waste of money,” Scott Hanson claimed the poster was simply seeking attention in a burn that’s since gone viral on Twitter.

“My hottest take is that you posted this for attention… not because you actually thought it through & believe it,” Hanson responded.

“But hey – if you actually *do* believe it – no worries. Enjoy the commercials and standing in the huddle shots & 9 additional looks at a replay when 1 is conclusive and … oh dear, I’ve run out of characters.”

The longtime face of NFL RedZone didn’t stop there, however, as he followed up with a second tweet that continued to roast the poster’s “hot take.”

“I’m very hesitant to do this. A) because it could come across as mean. B) because it actually feeds into attention. If he wants to watch 1 game – that’s his prerogative. But just know: his future NFL hot takes are based on… wait for it… watching 1 game.”

The 2024 NFL season will kick off on Sunday, September 8, with 12 games to be broadcast during the RedZone window: eight during the 1 p.m. window and four during the 4 p.m. window.

Unfortunately for RedZone, however, most of Week 1’s premium matchups — such as Chiefs vs. Ravens, Eagles vs. Packers, Rams vs. Lions, and Jets vs. 49ers — have been scheduled for primetime.

Some of the more tantalizing games that’ll be shown on RedZone during Week 1 include the Texans against the Colts at 1 p.m. and the Cleveland Browns versus the Dallas Cowboys at 4:25 p.m. EST.

Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams, the #1 overall pick in the NFL Draft, will also be making his debut during the 1 p.m. window on September 8.

This isn’t the only time that Hanson has gone viral this offseason, as he was bizarrely spotted in a TikTok video that was filmed in the aftermath of a car accident.
