Poker pro Scott Seiver is on an absolute heater right now at the 2024 World Series of Poker and has opened a massive lead in the Player of the Year points standings after he won his third WSOP bracelet of the Summer.

By winning Event #72: $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw Championship (7-Handed), Scott Seiver won his 7th WSOP bracelet overall and his third of the Summer. In doing so, he became just the 7th person in history to win three World Series of Poker bracelets in the same Summer and he is the first do to so in a decade since George Danzer did it in 2014.

Seiver also joins a very elite list of poker players to win three WSOP bracelets in one Summer a list that includes George Danzer (2014), Jeffrey Lisandro (2009), Phil Ivey (2002), Ted Forrest (1993), Phil Hellmuth (1993), and Puggy Pearson (1973).

To win his 7th bracelet of the Summer, Scott had to navigate a stacked table that included Jen Harman (5th) who used to get a ton of TV time on ESPN during the Poker Boom and Jeremy Ausmus (4th) who is 2nd in the WSOP Player of the Year standings and has 12 cashes so far at the 2024 World Series of Poker including a 2nd place finish in the $100K High-Roller No-Limit Hold’em for $1,892,260.

Scott Seiver’s Red Hot World Series Of Poker Run To His 7th Bracelet

Things were dicey for Siever when he was involved in a 3-way all-in po. PokerGo shared this video on X of the action:

And here is the moment that Scott Seiver got it done and won his 3rd bracelet at the 2024 World Series of Poker, the first to win 3 in a year in a decade:

It will be WILD if Seiver doesn’t win Player of the Year at this point. He currently has 3,757.01 points to 3,368.48 of Jeremy Ausmus. Those two are followed by Chris Hunichen (2,751.92), Phil Ivey (2,579.60), Bryce Yockey (2,361.89), and Daniel Negreanu (2,340.37).

A deep run in the Main Event, which begins this Wednesday, could vault any of those players up the list. In total, there are still over 20 tournaments left to play out at the 2024 World Series of Poker so the POY standings can certainly change but man, winning three bracelets in one year and not winning the POY title would be wild.

In total, Scott Seiver has 7 bracelets, 81 cashes (2 in Europe, 79 in US), and $7,397,903 earnings at the World Series of Poker. Despite all of that, the current Global Poker Index (rankings) on Hendon Mob only have Seiver ranked as the 323rd player in the world at the moment while Jeremy Ausmus is 18th.
