Every golfer who wins The Masters gets the chance to host a dinner ahead of the start of the tournament the following year, and Scottie Scheffler suggested he was going to stick to the menu he put together after winning in 2023. He mostly stuck to that promise, but he did poke fun at himself by adding the dish responsible for the injury he suffered during the holidays.
Ben Hogan ushered in a new tradition at The Masters in 1952 when he invited the golfers who’d previously won the tournament to join him for dinner at the clubhouse at Augusta National on the Tuesday night before the tournament kicked off.
Ever since then, one of the world’s most exclusive golf clubs has served as the site of a gathering of the golfers who’ve earned the right to don the green jacket (as well as the chairman of Augusta National, the only other person who lands an invite) for a meal featuring a menu curated by the man who topped the field the previous year and access to the institution’s impressive wine cellar.
In 2023, Scottie Scheffler got the chance to host for the first time, and he put together a crowd-pleasing list of food options while paying tribute to his Texas roots.

The man who’s spent the past 95 weeks at the top of the Official World Golf Rankings won The Masters for the second time last year, and in September, he said there was a good chance he’d just end up sticking with the exact same menu instead of attempting to fix what ain’t broke.
He mostly stuck to that promise based on the menu that was released ahead of the dinner that will be held on the evening of April 8th, but there was one new inclusion in the form of “Papa Scheff’s Meatball and Ravioli Bites”—an obvious nod to the hand injury Scheffler suffered while preparing that pasta dish during a Christmas gathering last year.

Scheffler had to withdraw from multiple tournaments as a result but seems to be more than fine after finishing in the Top 25 in all five of the events he’s competed in since returning (his best performance was a tie for third at the Genesis Invitational).
Well played.
