Scottie Scheffler’s incredible run continued this weekend at the Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio. The world’s top ranked golfer emerged victorious on Sunday, besting runner-up Colin Morikawa by a single stroke.

This win might’ve felt a bit sweeter for Scheffler as it represented his first tournament victory as a father. His wife and newborn were there to meet him after his final hole, offering a heartfelt moment for viewers at home.

The win was Scheffler’s fifth of the season in what’s been a year of headlines. Most of that attention has been positive, focused on his on-course dominance.

In 13 events, he’s racked up 12 Top 10 finishes – and north of $24M in earnings.

He’s been able to continue that success even while handling some off-course distractions.

His arrest at the PGA Championship is well-noted, as was the recent birth of his first child. He was able to win both The Masters and RBC Heritage with the possibility of his wife going into labor on the mind.

That pregnancy wouldn’t cause him to lose focus, and it doesn’t appear fatherhood will either.

Scottie Scheffler got off to a quick start at the Memorial Tournament, shooting five-under on Thursday and following it up with a -4 on Friday.

From there, he coasted to a win. Despite shooting two-over in his final round, he left victorious. He was then greeted by his wife and son as he made his way to the winner’s circle.

A clip of Meredith Scheffler holding their son, Bennett, has now gone viral on social media.

“That’s your daddy, he’s so proud of you,” you can hear her say as she congratulates her husband.

It was an awesome way to cap another incredible performance.
