The Seattle Seahawks have secured outside linebacker Uchenna Nwosu for the long term by signing him to a three-year extension worth up to $59 million, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The news broke on Monday, just two days before the Seahawks were set to commence their training camp.
The lucrative deal includes an impressive $32 million guaranteed, solidifying Nwosu’s position as a key player in the team’s future plans.
Last season, the 26-year-old proved himself to be the Seahawks’ top pass-rusher and shone brightly amidst an underperforming front seven.
Nwosu’s performance during his inaugural season with Seattle, following four seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers, was exceptional.
Uchenna achieved career-high statistics in various categories, including sacks 9.5 and 26 quarterback hits.

The linebacker was previously operating under a two-year, $19.055 million contract, which he had signed before last season in free-agency.
With Nwosu’s extension in place, his previous $13 million cap charge for the 2023 season is expected to be reduced, granting the Seahawks greater flexibility in managing their spending under the NFL’s limit.
With this new contract, the Seahawks are demonstrating their confidence in Uchenna Nwosu’s abilities, and fans eagerly await his continued contributions on the field in the seasons to come.
