UFC champ Sean O’Malley thinks his event will do bigger numbers than boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez.
On Saturday, September 14th, O’Malley will be the main event for the UFC Noche event at the Las Vegas Sphere and will be going head-to-head with Alvarez, who will be fighting Edgar Berlanga at the T-Mobile a few blocks down the street.
During an interview with ESPN’s First Take, O’Malley said he believes he’ll outsell Alvarez head-to-head because he thinks people don’t want to watch Alvarez fight Edgar Berlanga.
“I do believe the numbers will be better for the UFC and us that night… I’m defending the belt… fighting the number one guy…Canelo’s fighting a guy..I forgot it already. Yeah burrito, Berlanga. I think UFC, we’re gonna crush it. We’re going to crush it.”
Sean O'Malley believes #NocheUFC will do better numbers than Canelo's fight this weekend:
"[I'm] fighting the #1 guy on a 10-fight win streak… Canelo's fighting a guy… I forgot [his name] already. Yea, Burrito."

The UFC Noche event is already the highest grossing UFC event of all-time, according to UFC CEO Dana White.
Per @danawhite, #NocheUFC is a sell-out with less than 1k tickets left. They have a company-record $23 million gate, up from earlier estimate of $21 million.
