Things got awkward on the Seattle Seahawks sideline during Sunday’s NFL game against the Buffalo Bills. Tempers flared as teammates Derick Hall and Jarran Reed fought each other during a heated altercation after a bad penalty.
Fortunately, they were able to resolve their differences and used the exchange as a teaching moment.
The whole thing started when Buffalo had the ball on 3rd-and-7 from the Seattle 24-yard-line with 37 seconds left in the second quarter. Josh Allen threw an incomplete pass that would’ve forced a punt on fourth down.
However, Hall got to him late and was flagged for roughing the passer. The Bills advanced half the distance to the goal as a result of the penalty. They also received a fresh set of downs.
Allen found Dalton Kincaid for a 12-yard touchdown just two plays later. Buffalo went into the locker room with a 14-3 lead instead of a 10-3 lead, assuming Tyler Bass would’ve made the easy chip shot field goal.
Reed, a 31-year-old, eight-year NFL veteran, was furious with Hall, a 23-year-old second-year player and got up in his face to let him know. In a surprising turn of events, they actually had to be separated by Buffalo offensive lineman Dion Dawkins.

Although it seemed like Reed and Hall were willing to move on, they immediately went after each other on the sideline. Hall chirped at Reed. Reed made it physical.

The whole thing was super awkward. Multiple Seahawks coaches and teammates had to break it up.
Both players went to their separate corners for a brief timeout.
They later reconvened to hash out their differences. Linebacker Boye Mafe was there to moderate at first. He eventually trusted them not to throw hands.

Seattle is at a crucial point in the season. The Seahawks are not in a position to give up free points to anybody— let alone one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL. Jarran Reed was trying to keep Derick Hall in check!
