Sports show host Shannon Sharpe is going after “brash talking” Jamaican fans on social media following Noah Lyles‘ gold medal win at the Paris Olympics.

He reminded some of his followers about the previous smack being spoken in the leadup to the Games.

Lyles did some trash talking of his own ahead of his trip to Paris, referencing a June loss to Jamaican rival Oblique Seville. He backed it up on Sunday!

Seville and teammate Kishane Thompson were both in the 100-meter field, facing off against Noah Lyles and others for title of World’s Fastest Man.

Lyles emerged victorious by the slimmest of margins!

The American crossed the finish line five one hundredths of a second before Thompson for first place. Seville, meanwhile, finished in last.

That heated rivalry between US and Jamaican runners sparked social media fires. Many hyped their own side ahead of the Games, and it seems Shannon Sharpe opted to do a victory lap after the gold medal win.

Where’s all that brash talking you Jamaicans were doing. When Thompson laid dwn that 9.77 even got the prime minister involved. Told you we had something 4 y’all. I get the women were hurt, but Noah smoked Kishane and made Seville tap out

The response immediately initiated a back and forth with the fanbase.

A string of insults can be seen throughout Sharpe’s X timeline.

He’s reveling in the moment at Team Jamaica’s expense!

“Who’s going home with the gold?” he asked one particular commenter that noted the near-identical times for Noah Lyles and Kishane Thompson. He doesn’t care about the times, just the final result.

The sports personality might get ready to open up his checkbook following Lyles’ performance. He’s already pledged to pay out $25k for American winners.

With its gold medal wins on Sunday, Team USA moved into first place in the medal count. Shannon Sharpe won’t let anyone forget it!
