Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders has found himself in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons this week. The negative headlines started following a loss to Nebraska, and they’ve continued into his preparations for Colorado State.

The passer broke his social media silence on Monday with a post to his X timeline. He’s blocking out the noise and remaining focused on the game that lies ahead.

The Buffaloes fell in blowout fashion to the rival Cornhuskers on Saturday, losing 28-10 in Lincoln. Sanders received immediate criticism when he left the field early as opposed to staying on the sidelines with the rest of his teammates.

His postgame press conference would only add to the chiding as he threw his offensive line under the bus while refusing to take blame for the team’s struggles.

The narrative of his being a selfish teammate only grew this week.

Reports claim Deion Sanders forced Colorado to play Shedeur Sanders’ music after touchdowns.

This request was supposedly in lieu of the school’s fight song playing after scores.

Colorado released a statement combatting the reports, saying that the celebration isn’t unique to Shedeur Sanders. The Buffs said they do the same for Alejandro Mata when the kicker makes a field goal.

Still, it provided another unnecessary distraction with the team reeling from the loss to Nebraska.

The QB responded to the criticism on Monday.

He’s not worried about the narratives.

Sanders isn’t listening to the outside noise. He’s looking ahead to Colorado State.

The Buffaloes got the best of their instate rival last season, with the veteran signal caller throwing for 348 yards and four touchdowns.

Shedeur Sanders will look to make it 2-for-2 on Saturday when Colorado travels to Fort Collins.
