Shedeur Sanders is reacting to his awkward situation in Cleveland. This week, Sanders did not get any reps with the Browns’ first-team offense while in a QB battle with Kenny Pickett, Joe Flacco, and Dillon Gabriel.
As the QB competition in Cleveland heats up, Sanders says he’s just focused on himself and growing as a player.
“I’m focused on doing me,” he said Friday before the third training camp practice. “I’m focused on learning what I need to learn. That’s simply it.”
“I think they’re trying to win the who gives out the best water and Gatorades out here. So it is definitely a competition. Everything in life. It’s so many cameras out here. It is definitely competition with content obviously, too. So I think everything in life boils down to competition.”
Sanders was later awkwardly asked why he’s not getting any first-team reps with the team, and he delivered a level-headed response.
“That’s not my place to answer, to even be able to give the answer to that. I feel like if it’s not in my control, so I’m not even going to think about that or have that even in my thought process of why it is.”
“It’s a lot of people that want to have the opportunity to be at this level and I’m here and I’m thankful to have the opportunity. So whenever that is, it is, but it doesn’t make me feel down or it doesn’t make me feel left out or anything because I know who I am as a person. I know who I am as an individual and I know what I could bring to this team, so I can never feel less than in any circumstance.”

Sanders was praised for the way he answered the awkward question.
How does anyone hate this dude. His answers are always so natural and genuine. They try to bait him and it doesn't work, he's just a good dude. https://t.co/mDFyxrhWPf

As of now, things aren’t looking very good for Sanders in Cleveland, but that can all change in the preseason.
