Shedeur Sanders is likely going to be a top-10 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. However, he seems to believe he will not even have to wait that long.
The former Colorado and Jackson State quarterback does not expect to be on the board at No. 6.
Sanders, son of Deion, is the most polarizing player at his position in this year’s NFL Draft class by far. Some people think he will be a bust. Others think he is severely underrated.
Regardless of your opinion on Shedeur Sanders’ ability to play on the next level, it seems as though the 23-year-old is going to be drafted in the first 10 picks behind Cam Ward. The Titans, Browns, Giants, Raiders and Jets all need a quarterback. They are slated to pick first, second, third, sixth and seventh.
Although there is no way to know exactly what is going to happen, all signs point toward Las Vegas and New York. Sanders also scheduled a top-30 visit with Cleveland and it possible that Tennessee could choose to draft him over Ward. Either way, going No. 1 is not the priority.
Why would I be mad (if I am not drafted first overall)? These are good problems to have. You could be in a way worse situation. Being No. 1 doesn’t really matter to me. It’s all about fit.
— Shedeur Sanders
With that being said, Shedeur Sanders is very confident that he will be drafted with one of the first five picks. Maybe not No. 1, but no later than No. 5. We’ll see.
Field Yates of ESPN projected him to go No. 6 overall to the Raiders in his latest Mock Draft. Sanders disagrees.
That’s cap. I ain’t going six.
— Shedeur Sanders
Here is his exact reaction in real time:
What does that mean? What does he know?
Maybe Las Vegas is going to trade up. Maybe Shedeur Sanders has already received word from the Giants, Browns that they are going to draft him if he is still there at three and/or four.
Remember this reaction. It could prove to be a “freezing cold take” come April…
