Colorado defensive back Shilo Sanders is participating in the East-West Shrine Bowl this week as he looks to boost his professional stock ahead of the upcoming NFL Draft. Videos from the event are beginning to surface online.

One particularly viral post caught the attention of Deion Sanders Jr. this week. The message suggested that initial reviews have been quite negative as they pertain to his brother’s future outlook.

Images of the veteran safety lining up against Shrine Bowl competition have made the rounds on social media. X account Dov Kleiman wrote that Sanders’ stock is “tanking” after seeing his on-field reps.

The aggregator may or may not have direct knowledge of Shilo Sanders’ draft projections, and how his Shrine Bowl performance has impacted his stock. Deion Sanders Jr. believes has his doubts.

He called “cap” in an online response. He’s nixing the narrative that his brother’s stock is tumbling.

At the time of this writing, Shilo Sanders is considered a potential late-round selection. He’s currently rated as the No. 21 safety by NFL Draft Buzz. He could go undrafted. His Shrine Bowl performance won’t be the reason should that ultimately happen, though.

His father reiterated those feelings while showing support for his son on social media this week. He says the family is “keeping receipts” from the haters.

The Sanders family is not new to doubters. They’ve dealt with it at Colorado for the better part of the last two seasons. Everyone piled on after seeing the Buffs lose eight of nine games to finish out the 2023 college football season. They were a bit quieter upon seeing the team win nine games last year.

No longer able to rip apart the on-field play, critics then proceeded to attack Deion Sanders’ recruiting approach and supposed locker room disfunction. Through it all, the head coach continued to elevate his program.

His sons, Shedeur and Shilo, played a large role in that success. He’ll continue to support the duo as they move onto the next level.
