Simone Biles may be the most well-known global superstar outside of LeBron James at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France. But, that doesn’t make her immune from social media beef.

Former Team USA teammate and Olympic Medalist Mykayla Skinner previously made comments that were pretty critical of the now gold medal-winning USA Women’s Gymnastics Team prior to the Olympic Games. implying they hadn’t worked as hard as previous teams. After Team USA took gold in yesterday’s Team Final, Simone Biles made sure that Skinner knew how she felt about those comments, leading to a social media war.

Team USA, led by Biles, won in a blowout yesterday, and after the meet, she was asked by USA legend Aly Raisman what the team’s nickname was, a USA Gymnastics tradition dating back to the Magnificent 7 back in the 1996 Olympic Games. Biles told reporters that the team name was FAAFO, which stands for F*** around and find out. That was taken to be a shot at Skinner’s comments that she made in a now-deleted Youtube video after Olympic Trials in late June.

“Besides Simone, I feel like the talent and the depth just isn’t like what it used to be. I mean, obviously, a lot of girls don’t work as hard. The girls just don’t have the work ethic,” Skinner said.

It’s important to note that Skinner never actually made the competing team. She was an alternate in 2016 and competed as an individual in 2020, where she won a silver medal on vault after Simone Biles pulled out.

Later on, Simone Biles posted pictures from the team’s win, with a caption that was a much more direct shot at Mykayla Skinner.

Gymnastics royalty like teammate Suni Lee, 2012 gold medalist Mckayla Maroney, and 2008 Olympic All-Around Champion Nastia Liukin all took shots at Skinner as well, and it appears that she’s had enough.

Yeah, this fight is over. Biles definitely won this round.

Simone Biles, who clarified that the real team name is the “Golden Girls”, competes in the Olympic All-Around Final alongside teammate and fellow past winner of the event, Suni Lee, on Thursday.
