Skip Bayless threw his Undisputed partnership with 3x Super Bowl champ and NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe away to defend Tom Brady. It was *the catalyst* that led to them splitting up. And that is just one instance of Skip Bayless licking Tom Brady’s boots over the years but those days are evidently gone now that Tom Brady is on-air.
During yesterday’s show on Skip’s YouTube channel (because he’s no longer on TV), Skip Bayless ripped into Tom Brady as the ‘Daniel Jones of broadcasting.’ His main critique? That Tom Brady is ‘nice guy Tom’ and Skip says that Brady “just talks and talks and talks some more.” It’s actually breaking my brain that the irony of what’s coming out of his mouth is lost on Skip Bayless who has made an entire career out of talking and talking and talking some more about nothing. His only schtick is to get people riled up. Substance has always been an after thought.

Skip Bayless started the rant by saying “as a TV analyst he is nothing but Daniel Jones. I’m sorry, but Tom Brady drove me nuts yesterday during the Detroit-Green Bay game with his endless, giddy, Capt. Obvious blather. He just talks, and talks, and talks some more about what is so cliched… Obvious… So Patriots-Brady-talking-to-the-media-obvious. So ‘eager to be nice guy Tom’ obvious.”
Later in the segment, around the 2-minute mark, he then takes shots at Tom Brady the NFL owner. Skip has taken issue with the firing of Las Vegas Raiders Luke Getsy. Bayless says “Tom, you don’t have a quarterback…” before ranting about the pieces the Raiders need to put in place.
While still speaking seemingly directly to Brady (who would never listen to Skip), Bayless says “it was Luke Getsy’s fault? That was small minded, that was petty, that was cold-blooded… It sounds like the GOAT needed a scapegoat.”
I hate to play the age card here but at 72-years-old, is Skip Bayless too old to realize it has been less than three weeks since Tom Brady was approved as a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders? Sure, the deal has been in the works for 17 months but Tom quite literally has been a part-owner for less than a month. Does Skip Bayless know that?
It feels like Skip Bayless doesn’t realize that by throwing the blame of every single currently facing the Las Vegas Raiders at Tom Brady’s feet. And meanwhile, Tom Brady owns 5% of the Raiders. Let me say that again… five percent. Would you be shocked to learn that Skips’ video comparing Tom Brady to Daniel Jones has less than 5,000 views?
There are viewers (aside from Skip) who have criticized Tom Brady’s booth presence. Likewise, there are fans who enjoy his coverage. But to see Skip Bayless turn on the GOAT like this after all these years and do it without any sense of the irony…it’s rich.
