Medals are obviously the most sought-after keepsake among the athletes who headed to Paris to compete in the Olympics this year, but I’d argue Snoop Dogg has secured the silver in that particular category thanks to the incredibly on-brand pins he’s been handing out since arriving.

The Olympics are built on a foundation of storied and time-honored traditions, and that includes the collectible pins with a history that can be traced back to the badges athletes sported when the inaugural edition of the modern Games was held in Athens all the way back in 1896.

Athletes competing in the Olympics traditionally head to the event with a sizeable stockpile of pins they can trade with competitors from other countries. Some of them simply commemorate the team they represent, while others are specific to certain sports and even commissioned for individual participants.

However, you don’t have to be competing in the Olympics to get in on the action. It’s common for spectators to bring pins they can exchange with other attendees, and the same can be said for people covering the Olympics—including one of NBC’s newest correspondents: Snoop Dogg.

Snoop Dogg has lived up to his reputation as a consummate entertainer while covering the ongoing proceedings for the network, and he went out of his way to commission some incredible custom pins before arriving in Paris that featured him standing in front of the Eiffel Tower while exhaling a quintet of smoke rings in the colors of the official Olympic logo.

We got a look at one of those pins courtesy of Coco Gauff, who showed off the one she received from the man she referred to as “Mr. Snoop” in a video that was filmed after she topped Argentina’s Maria Lourdes Carle on Monday.

Gauff’s singles campaign came to a disappointing end on Tuesday after she was eliminated by Croatia’s Donna Vekić in a match marred by a video replay controversy.

She still has a couple of chances to take home a medal while respectively playing alongside Jessica Pegula and Taylor Fritz in the women’s and mixed doubles competitions, but that’s still a pretty envy-inducing consolation prize.
