Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku held a charity softball game over the weekend that took an unexpectedly savage turn. Running back John Kelly Jr. refused to allow an elderly grandma to reach base.
He did not show any mercy!
Social media personality Ross Smith has more than 4.5 million subscribers on YouTube and more than 3.1 million followers on Instagram. Most of his videos prominently feature his grandmother. They often involve some kind of prank or social experiment. Sometimes ‘Granny’ gets pranked. Sometimes she is in on the joke. For example:
Ross and Granny were invited to play in Njoku’s celebrity softball game at Classic Auto Group Park in Eastlake, Ohio on Saturday. Travis Kelce, Nick Chubb, Jenna Bandy, Ron from the Jersey Shore, Bob Menery, AK Mensah, Bernie Kosar and Jorge Masvidal were among the other participants.
Although Ross played in the field and was firmly in the lineup, Granny also got a few at-bats. She actually made pretty solid contact on a few different occasions. She also dribbled one back to the mound.
Ross helped his grandmother run the bases and escorted her down to first base.
Kelly Jr. was playing first. He had the ball in his glove when Granny was about 45 feet down the line.
At first, Kelly allowed her to keep running. And then, right before she reached base safely, he stepped on the bag and recorded the out. Right in her face. It was ice cold!
To make it even funnier, Kelly and Njoku celebrated like they made the final out of the World Series.
Poor Granny, makes some solid contact and heads to first base—only for #Browns RB John Kelly Jr. to tag the bag just before she made it on.

No mercy.
Had to celebrate with David Njoku after too😂 pic.twitter.com/taj5jLE5CC
The 27-year-old NFL ball-carrier did not show any mercy. He even doubled down.
Gotta be quicker than that granny

Sorry, Granny Smith. As fun as it was to see you get down the line, charity softball games are serious business. Recording the out is far more important!
