The Pittsburgh Steelers didn’t draft Shedeur Sanders, leading to the Colorado Buffs QB to slip into the second round. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Steelers were going back and forth on drafting Sanders.
“We know he had a good visit, we know he’s now available. We do not know if the Steelers are going to pick him.As of yesterday, they were going back and forth, is the value worth it? Split in the room.”
NFL Insider Peter Schrager believes the Steelers passed on Sanders because they want to sign Aaron Rodgers.
“I thought it was the one place for Shedeur. I know he had a good meeting with Tomlin….The truth of the matter is if you’re in the Aaron Rodgers game and you’re trying to convince Aaron to come, the last thing you would do is draft a quarterbac…This to me tells you’re all in on Rodgers. This tells me it’s Rodgers and the Steelers, and that’s the future.”
The Giants also passed on Shedeur with the 25th pick and instead chose to take QB Jaxson Dart.
The #Giants trade back into the first round and take… #OleMiss QB Jaxson Dart. So Abdul Carter and Dart.
Brian Daboll has been speaking with Dart over the last few days, keeping him warm amid the Shedeur Sanders talk. NYG gets its QB.
