The sports world, including Stephen A. Smith, is reacting to Pat McAfee’s landing a rare LeBron James interview. On Tuesday night, McAfee revealed that he would be speaking to LeBron in a pre-recorded interview.

On Wednesday morning’s episode of First Take, Chris ‘Mad Dog’ Russo mentioned McAfee landing the interview, and Smith offered his thoughts on the matter.

Chris Russo: “That’s a great job by McAfee. Getting a guy in there for an hour… who’d not want to talk to LeBron for an hour? Windy can. He’d never come on with me.”

Brian Windhorst: “He wouldn’t come on with me, no I don’t think so.”

Stephen A. Smith: “He’d probably harm somebody if they even approached him about coming on with me.”

Smith clearly referenced LeBron confronting him at the Lakers game two weeks ago, which led to the First Take host jumping on numerous shows to bash the NBA superstar.

Later in Wednesday’s show, Smith bashed LeBron over comments that current star NBA players would score hundreds of points in the 70s.

“[LeBron hates] the fact that people can point to a previous era and talk about what you’re not.”

“Nobody was gonna impede Kobe. Nobody was gonna impede MJ. Nobody was gonna impede Duncan … But him? I believe he would’ve been impeded—which is why I have Jordan”

It’s going to be interesting to see how Smith reacts to McAfee’s full interview with LeBron.
