Upon receiving his third not-gold medal in three years of International play for Team Sweden, team captain and New York Ranger’s prospect Lias Andersson chucked his silver runner-up medallion into the stands. Of course, some people are bitching about it – saying it was bad sportsmanship, immature, and all that bullshit. They forget the IIHF World Junior Championships is played by teenagers and for them, it’s truly gold or bust. Personally, I’m glad to see Andersson is a constituent in The Church Of Ricky Bobbism.
“‘If you ain’t first, you’re last.’ – Ricky Bobby” – Lias Andersson
Check out the 19 year old Swede savage give a zero, if not negative, number of fucks about his 1st Place Loser Silver Medal:

Credit where credit is due, that was a solid toss.
FWIW, Sweden does win the gold in the medal toss competition. pic.twitter.com/wBvRkZdJEn

And I swear you can just see him thinking about tossing the trophy over the glass too. My man is ride-or-die, Gold or GTFO…

His disregard for runner-up hardware is the second craziest thing that happened after this game and only the beginning of this story.

ANOTHER MULT-TEAM JERSEY WEARER? THIS IS TCU/STANFORD KIDS ALL OVER AGAIN! This shit needs to end, right now.
The dude who caught Lias’ medal was Bill Shaflucas. Bill claims to be a US fan that bought and wore the Team Sweden jersey to mess with the friends he sat with, who were all proud Canadians.
I mean, I guess that’s as good an excuse as any but this whole movement of wearing both team’s gear to games is just wrong. What happens if we accept wearing both team’s gear to a game as a norm? Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria!
Anyway, for those concerned, Shaflucas took a couple pictures wearing the medal before giving it to a Team Sweden trainer. The trainer obviously returned the medal to Andersson – who is probably selling it on eBay, destroying it with power tools, or seeing how far he can throw it.
