Gonzaga basketball is apparently a big fan of Sydney Sweeney, because who isn’t? More than one of them shot their shot — off of the court — at the 26-year-old actress, which led to an incredible Christmas gift for Jimmy Fallon.
Sweeney is currently in the middle of a big media tour to promote her upcoming movie ‘Anyone But You’ with Glenn Powell. She swung by Rockefeller Center to join the Tonight Show earlier this week.
Fallon jumped on the Bulldogs’ bandwagon a few years back and issued a challenge to the fanbase.
They obliged!
Sydney Sweeney is also a fan of Gonzaga.
She was born and raised in Spokane. She attended St. George’s School in the northern part of the Lilac City.
The Bulldogs must know that Sweeney is watching!
Whether coincidental or not, (more than) one of the players slid into her DMs. One thing led to another and Sweeney was able to get a basketball, signed by the entire team, for Fallon!
Sweeney did not say who the player(s) might have been. She does not follow any of them on Instagram. She follows just 800 people.
However, junior forward Ben Gregg and fifth-year forward Anton Watson are the only two players known to follow Sweeney on Instagram. Their teammates do not appear to follow her.
Was the DM-slider one of those two? We may never know, but the odds of someone reaching out to Sweeney on social media without following her on social media seems less likely.
… unless, maybe, they are trying to be discreet. Perhaps they saw Sweeney’s Tonight Show appearance and quickly hit unfollow so not to get exposed.
There is also a chance that this has been in the works for awhile. Sweeney had not seen Fallon in a year+, so it is possible that the thirsty college basketball players have already graduated. Drew Timme?! Was that you?!
