Sydney Sweeney is now fully an A-list actress, as the 27-year-old is stacking up projects of all sorts.

Sweeney has signed on to star alongside Amanda Seyfried in the film The Housemaid. The Housemaid, based on the bestselling novel by Freida McFadden, is set to be directed by Paul Feig, the filmmaker of Bridesmaids.

While Feig’s Bridesmaids is undoubtedly one of the iconic comedy films of the 2010s, his movies since then have largely been misfires, particularly in the last few years, as he’s most recently directed movies such as Jackpot! and The School for Good and Evil.

According to a report from Deadline, Sweeney will star as “Millie, a struggling woman who is relieved to get a fresh start as a housemaid to Nina (Seyfried) and Andrew, an upscale, wealthy couple, who soon learns that the family’s secrets are far more dangerous than her own.”

In addition to The Housemaid, Sydney Sweeney is also signed on to star in a biopic about female boxer Christy Martin and a remake of the 1960s Jane Fonda-starring cult classic sci-fi film Barbarella.

Sweeney’s most recent film, Eden, had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. Directed by Hollywood stalwart Ron Howard, Eden also stars Ana de Armas, Vanessa Kirby, Jude Law, and Daniel Bruhl alongside Sweeney.

Despite the film’s star power and name-brand director, however, it has yet to acquire a distributor in the United States. She also has a thriller film with Julianne Moore titled Echo Valley that’s been wrapped since June 2023. That film also does not have a distributor or a release date, however. Sweeney is also set to reprise her role of Cassie Howard in the third season of the hit HBO series Euphoria, which helped launch her career.
