Taylor Swift fans are fully convinced they missed an obvious clue about Deandre Hopkins and his trade from the Titans to the Chiefs. However, the quick timeline of how things came together will allow them to sleep easy.
None of the three parties involved knew Hopkins was going to be shipped from Tennessee to Kansas City until early Wednesday morning.
Swifties, for those who are not familiar, are a lot like college football fans when they are tracking a head coaching search. They are constantly scouring social media for any tidbit of information that could relate to their fearless leader or her greater circle, which now includes Travis Kelce and the NFL. Anything that might be of note gets filed on discussion boards, or on social media. A larger investigation into the aforementioned information and what it might or might not mean then ensues from there.
In this specific instance, Taylor Swift fans are convinced that they dropped the ball. They are not!
Did Deandre Hopkins tease his trade?
Hopkins posted a video on Instagram over the weekend. He and his family, all wearing No. 10 Titans jerseys, sang along to the song ’22’ while in the car. His daughter was really into it.
Swifties are fully convinced their new wide receiver’s sing-a-long hinted at his future with the Chiefs. To add fuel to the fire, the caption read “rumor has it.”
Deandre Hopkins posted his family dancing to “22” by Taylor Swift, with the caption “rumor has it”, just 4 days ago. We should’ve known. Oh and his family is going to fit right in! 🫶🏼 pic.twitter.com/W7Porp3M6i

According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the two AFC organizations only began to talk about a potential deal just before (or right at) 11:59pm on Tuesday. Talks continued past midnight into the next morning. The trade became official on early Wednesday.
This has been a long-rumored trade but listen to how fast it happened. It has been nothing but rumors til, I would say, about midnight last night Kansas City time.
The two sides got together, they kind of threw hypotheticals back and forth. By about 5 or 6 in the morning today it became clear that a deal would happen.

There you go, Swifties!
Maybe Deandre Hopkins was actually foreshadowing to Wednesday’s blockbuster trade because it was rumored to be in the works behind the scenes. Probably not because it came together so fast.
All of the Taylor Swift fans who thought they missed an obvious hint on Hopkins’ Instagram can rest assured they did not. Instead, they can embrace their idol’s boyfriend’s new teammate and his daughter for their mutual appreciation of the world’s biggest pop star.
