Taylor Swift Draws Comparisons To Jessica Simpson After Appearing At Second Travis Kelce Game

Despite a shockingly entertaining game between the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets, it was still the presence of Taylor Swift on Sunday Night Football.

For the second week running, Swift was in a suite at a game supporting new boyfriend Travis Kelce.

Her first appearance at one of Kelce’s games led to a 41-10 blowout of the Chicago Bears.

Many expected something similar this time around, as the defending Super Bowl champs squared off with the 1-2 New York Jets, led by quarterback Zach Wilson.

But something different happened.

Rather than Wilson making a comedy of errors, as per usual, he was actually pretty good. Instead, Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes was the one who struggled and, in the end, KC just squeaked by with a 23-20 victory.

This led some to wonder if maybe Swift’s presence had a negative effect on the Chiefs.

After all, there was precedent for a superstar musician showing up at games and stealing the show.

If we jump in the way back machine, we can remember when pop star Jessica Simpson was dating Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. She regularly attended games, and any time that Romo would struggle, fans would be quick to blame Simpson.

Which brings us to the present, when fans began to draw comparisons between Simpson and Swift.

“Remember when Tony Romo dated Jessica Simpson and the national media destroyed her and blamed her for everything,” Twitter user @jamieamalea wrote.

“So nobody learned a single thing when the Tony Romo-Jessica Simpson thing happened,” @DReyesCeron asked.

One fan suggested that the abuse Simpson took actually made it so that Swift didn’t have to deal with the same.

“This Taylor Swift news cycle is actually penance for how nasty people were to Jessica Simpson when she was with Tony Romo. In this essay I will…,” wrote @Madsruns.
Things are looking good for Swift now. But if KC starts losing, we may have an all-out war on our hands between Swifties and NFL fans.
