TCU defensive end Paul Oyewale is contemplating entry into the transfer portal. With that being said, he has not left the Horned Frogs football program.
At the moment, he continues to prep for a bowl game appearance. All the while, rumors swirl surrounding his future.
Oyewale was one of the team’s top performers on the front four in 2025. The junior from Houston, TX racked up 7.5 tackles for loss and a pair of sacks across 12 contests.
Those totals largely mirrored his 2024 production.
The lineman was expected to have a significant role on the defense in 2026 as the Horned Frogs look to improve upon an 8-4 campaign. His status, however, is now in doubt.
Paul Oyewale to transfer?
Reports of his intended portal entry surfaced earlier this week. Those rumors arose hours after the defender practiced with TCU on Monday.
On Tuesday, despite the supposed exit from Fort Worth, he again showed up to the practice field.
The Horned Frogs will face USC in the Alamo Bowl on December 30. The portal opens on January 2.
Oyewale’s presence at practice would seemingly indicate a desire to play in the team’s postseason matchup, which would contradict the idea that he plans on leaving the team.
Is it a sign he’s leaning towards staying at the university? Does he want one last opportunity to boost his transfer stock?
TCU insiders attempted to gather some clarity on the situation after the fact. Here is the explanation received.
Oyewale is simply “considering” his options.
I’m told that Paul Oyewale is “considering” entering the transfer portal but no final decision has been made yet.

According to Steven Johnson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, no final decision has been made. A transfer is on the table. A return to the Horned Frogs remains, too.
The leaked information does one thing – lets potential suitors know that Paul Oyewale is open to negotiations.
For TCU, that means the possibility of entering a bidding war to keep the lineman put. For Oyewale, it allows him to test the market for a more lucrative deal while keeping his current spot on the roster.
An interesting storyline to note involves his NIL agency. Oyewale has new representation as of this week. The timing of that change is certainly curious now that the transfer rumors are out.
Will Paul Oyewale stay at TCU? Will he test the market? Is this a ploy to secure a raise?
Time will tell on each of those questions. For now, the lineman is practicing for the Alamo Bowl. He is a Horned Frog… for now.
