Former NFL quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is off to a hot start in his first season as a high school football coach at Miami Northwestern. He is officially 1-0 after a regular season win on Thursday.

The Bulls have one of the most exciting offenses in the entire country!

Bridgewater hung up his cleats in December after 10 years with the Vikings, Jets, Saints, Panthers, Broncos, Dolphins and Lions. His alma mater hired him as its head football coach in February.

Unfortunately, the No. 32 overall pick in the 2014 draft never quite reached his full potential as a player because of a nasty leg injury at the start of his third season. However, he carved out an impressive career as a journeyman backup and was perhaps most valuable as a mentor to his teammates.

Man, that’s just me my entire life, just paying it forward. Because I know I won’t play this game forever. There are certain things in life I can’t do forever, so it’s like, man, how can I leave an everlasting impact? How can I prepare the next wave of athletes for what’s in store?

It’s kind of my gift to life. Honestly, just pouring into the younger athletes, the younger players on the team. That’s how I stay blessed, I feel. That’s how I keep getting opportunities, of course outside of what I’m able to do as a football player […]

Those are the life trophies I get. Those are the plaques I get that you don’t see on the walls. It just means a lot for me.

By all accounts, Bridgewater is an even better person than player. And he was a pretty good player!

The 31-year-old’s focus on putting others before himself will serve him very well as a coach. Bridgewater offered a profound message to his players during his first spring practice in May that proved he was made for this role.

As did his offense in its first two games of the year!

Northwestern was firing on all cylinders during a preseason game last week. The Bulls continued to dominate during the regular season on Thursday with a blowout win over Coconut Creek.

They were lit as soon as they got off the bus.

Teddy Bridgewater looked every bit the part!

His former teammate, Xavien Howard, even pulled up to check out the show.

6-foot-6, 250-pound Wisconsin commit Wilnerson Telemaque is one of them. He looks like a man amongst boys.

Four-star wide receiver Calvin Russell III is the second-ranked wide receiver in the college football recruiting Class of 2026. At 6-foot-5.5, 190 pounds, he got loose for six on Friday!

The Bulls’ offense dropped 45 points on the Cougars and the defense didn’t allow a single point.

Bridgewater led his alma mater in its fight song after officially moving to 1-0, which was a pretty cool moment. A big smile spread across his face from ear to ear.

It is impossible to dislike Teddy Bridgewater. Miami Northwestern is going to be A LOT of fun to watch this year, especially on offense. Get on board the bandwagon before it’s too late!
