Junior safety Andre Turrentine has spent time in both the Big Ten and SEC. This month, his current team will face off against his former school in the College Football Playoff.
The Tennessee Volunteers will travel to Columbus to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes. Turrentine doesn’t seem worried about the road trip!
While previewing the matchup, he was asked about the environment he expects to walk into when he returns to the Ohio State campus. He says it won’t stack up to what he’s seen at UT.
“The Shoe isn’t as loud as the SEC, it’s a different animal here,” Turrentine said in a recent press conference. “Whether you’re at South Carolina at night. At Arkansas at night. At Neyland at night, or in the daytime for that matter. It’s loud here. It’s deafening.”

Andre Turrentine has played in Ohio Stadium before. He knows how loud it can get.
He did go on to commend Buckeye fans for their ability to produce a raucous atmosphere. Still, he doesn’t believe it will match other road venues he’s played in this season. Those words will certainly be used as motivation for the Ohio State faithful!
Working in the Buckeyes favor is the fact that this will be a night game in Columbus. That’s something the team didn’t get to experience during the regular season as they were hit with noon game after noon game in Big Ten play. That should only make the atmosphere in the Horseshoe more daunting for the Vols.
At the time of this writing, the Buckeyes are favored by 7.5 points in the College Football Playoff matchup. Vegas believes in a clear home field advantage for Ohio State. We’ll see if they can make Turrentine eat his words.
