Laila Thompson-Wainer, the ex-fiancee of Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Tez Johnson, posted a video on social media claiming that Johnson cheated on her the day they got engaged. Johnson just completed his rookie season with the Bucs.
Now a part-time staffer with the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks, Laila Thompson-Wainer shared a video on TikTok accusing Tez Johnson on cheating on her with his ex on the same day he proposed.
In the video, Thompson-Wainer shared a text message to Johnson allegedly sent to his ex-girlfriend just hours before proposing that read: “Need your throat.” Later in the day, after the proposal, Johnson again texted his ex seeing if they could meet up.

“If I had to have the devil in disguise as a fiancé, and I had to go through that, then let me utilize the blueprint of a bad, s—- man to promote conversations about healing and create a community of women. That is what I want to do,” she said in the video.

23-year-old Tez Johnson was selected by the Tampa Bay Bucs out of the University of Oregon in the 7th round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Considering when he was drafted, Johnson had a productive rookie campaign as he caught 28 catches for 322 yards and five touchdowns.
Johnson began his college football career with Troy University in 2020, where he remained until he transferred to the University of Oregon in 2023. In two seasons with the Ducks, Johnson had 169 catches for 2080 yards and 20 receiving touchdowns in 16 games.
