The Texas A&M baseball team was swept by a Missouri team that entered the weekend winless in SEC play. Not only did the Tigers end a 24-game conference losing streak, but they did so in convincing fashion.

The Aggies were outscored 23-8 across three games. That included a 10-1 shellacking in the series finale.

Questions surrounding new head coach Michael Earley’s future have been circulating throughout the season. The program came one win away from a national championship last season. Since, it’s been a disaster.

Former head coach Jim Schlossnagle traitorously bailed for rival Texas 24 hours after the season ended. Earley, who was an assistant on the previous staff, took over.

That was initially viewed as a win by those close to the team. Earley was able to avoid a mass transfer exodus due to his familiarity with the roster. Unfortunately, that opinion has changed.

Texas A&M was ranked as the No. 1 college baseball team entering the year. They then started 14-15 and have struggled to reproduce the same success seen last season.

The Aggies have fallen out of the Top 25 and are now fighting for their postseason lives. Last week, they were projected to be a No. 3 seed in the Clemson regional. That outlook will change following the sweep against Missouri.

Mike Grahovac attempted to show support for the Texas A&M baseball coach…

That try failed miserably.

He (Earley) comes back, they (the players) come back. Enough said. Any issues, come discuss with me.

The statement upset the Texas A&M faithful for a number of reasons. One, it contradicted the feelings many are experiencing this season. The concerns with the coaching staff are valid considering the offseason expectation.

Two, it seemed a threat on the future of the program. Followers could read that message as, “If Earley is fired, the players are going with him,” – his son included. Essentially, folks saw it as a scare tactic to force administration into keeping the current staff.

Mike Grahovac is Gavin Grahovac’s father. He’s a sophomore that hit .298 last year and tied a single-season Texas A&M freshman record with 23 home runs. His transfer portal entry would be impactful.

His dad later attempted to clarify.

This is the best day. The Twitter world is the best. I’m just like you guys. I have NO say… I will let the truth out later but again, the original tweet said nothing about A&M or Gavin. The Twitter world took it and ran with it.

Grahovac received backlash for both the initial message and subsequent responses. It led him to delete his X account after a few hours’ time.

Texas A&M baseball is in a tough spot. It seems players and parents would like to see Michael Earley stay. Others around the fanbase believe he’s in over his head.

Mike Grahovac voiced his opinion on Sunday. The response probably wasn’t what he’d expected!
