Texas A&M University announced on Tuesday that it will serve as a sponsor of the No. 60 IndyCar Meyer Shank Racing Honda driven by Felix Rosenqvist for the 2026 racing season. Together with a helmet made especially for the race weekend by Troy Lee Designs, the Aggie maroon livery will make its debut at the inaugural Java House Grand Prix of Arlington.

A helmet sponsorship with Rosenqvist and a new season-long associate sponsorship of the Meyer Shank Racing entry will serve as the cornerstones of Texas A&M’s season-long presence in IndyCar in 2026. The designers specifically devised the placement of the school’s logo to match how IndyCar broadcasts races, intending for it to frequently appear in in-car camera and close-up footage over the course of 18 race weekends.

“Texas A&M will emphasize three themes that align naturally with the calendar and the sports: A Force For Good in Texas, in American innovation and in national service, security and defense,” the university stated in a press release.

Texas A&M is not new to sponsoring motorsports

This isn’t the first time Texas A&M University has involved itself in motorsports at the highest level as a sponsor. In 2024, Texas A&M spent $160,000 to have its branding appear on two Stewart-Haas cars in the NASCAR Cup Series.

Felix Rosenqvist also wore the Texas A&M logo on his helmet during the 2025 season and finished sixth in the 2025 IndyCar Series championship.

“I’m proud to continue my partnership with Texas A&M for the 2026 NTT IndyCar Series season,” Rosenqvist said. “It’s been incredible to represent such a respected university with a passionate and engaged community behind it. The support from Aggieland has meant a lot to me, and I’m excited to keep building on what we’ve started together. We have a big season ahead, and I’m motivated to deliver strong results on track while continuing to connect with the students, former students and fans who make this partnership so special.”

Texas A&M will also be a season-long associate sponsor of Haas Factory Team, driver Cole Custer, and the No. 41 Chevrolet Camaro in NASCAR. On June 21, Texas A&M will be the main sponsor of Custer’s car during the first Anduril 250 at Naval Base Coronado in the San Diego area, wearing a bespoke Texas A&M University military appreciation livery.
