A sad Texas football fan went viral during the Longhorns’ 30-15 loss to Georgia over the weekend. He’s now been identified and is ready to turn his viral moment into an opportunity to give back.
Grant Walther was caught on camera during the Texas-UGA broadcast on Saturday night looking shocked by the outcome of the SEC football matchup.
The Longhorns entered as four-point favorites in pursuit of an undefeated debut season in their new conference. They left with their tails between their legs!
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 23-0 advantage before leaving Austin with a 15-point victory.
Grant Walther was disgusted!

He’d later realize that he’d gone viral on social media as friends ridiculed him in the moment.

Now, he’s doing his best to turn that sad meme into a charitable cause!
He interviewed with the Daily Mail this week to talk about his newfound fame. He called on Texas football superfan Matthew McConaughey to help him raise money to beat cancer.
“Matthew McConaughey was cutting players’ hair,” he recalled. “Maybe he can cut mine on the field. Raise some money for cancer awareness. My grandmother just recently got diagnosed with breast cancer and then beat it.”

He also took the opportunity to do some self-promotion, spitting game at ‘Hawk Tuah’ viral sensation Haliey Welch.
Grant Walther seems to be taking his meme-worthy moment in stride! And despite watching the Longhorns lose on Saturday, he was back to supporting his school later in the week.
