Parker Livingstone will not play for the Texas Longhorns football team in 2026. That comes despite boasting a notable offer to return next year.

The wideout reportedly turned down a six-figure deal to stick around in Austin. He has entered the transfer portal in search of a new home.

Livingstone announced his decision in a post on social media. His final paragraph of a farewell message was telling.

“Never in a million years did I think I would be going into the portal looking for a new home,” the note read. “Some things are out of my control. Such is the reality of the ever-changing landscape of college football.”

That initially created confusion on his reasoning. Many immediately assumed it was an NIL issue. Sources close to the Texas football program have refuted those claims.

Who is Parker Livingstone?

The wide receiver signed with the Longhorns as a three-star recruit in the class of 2024. He appeared in four games as a freshman but recorded no stats.

He made a much larger impact in Year 2.

Following that redshirt season, Livingstone hauled in 29 catches for 516 yards and six scores. He also threw a touchdown to roommate Arch Manning.

At 6-foot-4, he was both a deep ball threat and a popular target in the redzone.

When entering the offseason, Parker Livingstone fully intended to return to Austin for his third year. Things have since changed.

Texas is active in the transfer portal.

Specifically at wide receiver. Most recently, the program recently hosted Auburn transfer Cam Coleman, a former five-star prospect viewed by many as the most talented wideout on the market.

He is one of many pass catching targets in Steve Sarkisian’s crosshairs.

The Longhorns are looking to upgrade the position room. That may come at the expense of Livingstone’s playing time. Hence, his “out of my control” comment on the situation at hand.

Rather than find himself buried on the depth chart, he’s chosen to find another option. In doing so, he will leave a six-figure offer on the table.

Livingstone will look for more playing time in 2026. He’s reportedly visited Indiana and Oklahoma as he searches for a new landing spot.
