Few traditions in America are as fun as football on Thanksgiving. The traditional games featuring the Detroit Lions and the Dallas Cowboys, plus an extra night game, always get huge television ratings.

But, fans are not going to be delighted when they turn into the second game on Thanksgiving Day between two of the league’s marquee franchise in the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants. That’s because they’ll be treated to a terrible quarterback matchup that is going to put millions to sleep after eating plenty of turkey.

The game was supposed to feature Dak Prescott against Daniel Jones. That’s not a great matchup by any means. Prescott was coming off a fantastic 2023, but Daniel Jones is not good at all. Still, that would be better than what we’re going to get.

Dak Prescott is on Injured Reserve fir a hamstring injury, and he will be out for the year. And, Daniel Jones has been benched due to really poor play amidst a 2-8 start to the season for the G-Men.

That leaves us with a likely quarterback matchup of Cooper Rush and Tommy DeVito. Not only is that going to be the matchup, but the game isn’t going to mean anything. Both teams won’t be playing for anything other than draft position.

Thankfully, the two other games will be a bit better.

The Detroit Lions will take on the Chicago Bears in the first game of the day. While the Bears are on a four-game losing streak, Caleb Williams and the offense looked much better on Sunday after they fired offensive coordinator Shane Waldron. And, The Lions might be one of the most fun teams in the league. That offense is incredible.

The second game will feature the Miami Dolphins and Green Bay Packers. Jordan Love is always fun to watch, and Tua Tagovailoa has been fantastic since returning from injury.

If you want to watch good quarterbacks, focus on those two games. You may want to have some family time around 4PM ET.
