The Miami Heat are making sure the NBA can’t hit them with another fine.
Earlier today, it was revealed that the league was fining the Heat for failing to provide an accurate injury report before their game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday.
Per NBA: “The Miami Heat has been fined $25,000 for violating league injury reporting rules. The Heat failed to disclose an accurate game availability status for several players prior to its game vs. Oklahoma City on Dec. 14 at Paycom Center.”

The Heat could have just taken this fine and moved on, but instead they decided to respond to it in the pettiest way possible.
To make sure that they absolutely couldn’t be hit with another fine for failing to properly report a player’s injury status, they just went ahead and listed every single player on their roster on the injury report for tomorrow’s game against the San Antonio Spurs.
That’s 17 players that they listed with an assortment of ailments heading into their next game.

They actually do have 4 players that are going to miss tomorrow’s game, including Gabe Vincent, who has been an important part of their rotation this season.
This is a pretty incredible response to getting hit with a fine. I’m not sure how NFL players who get hit with pointless fines for celebrations could use this as inspiration for their own pettiness, but I hope they find a way to do it.
Maybe they could just exaggerate their not celebrating on their next touchdown, but it feels like the NFL would even find a way to hit them with a fine for that.
Well played, Miami Heat. Well played.
