The NFL Is Investigating Players Who Participated In Arm-Wrestling Event In Vegas

The NFL is moving a team to Las Vegas but God forbid players run any events in the Vegas area.

The NFL is currently investigating players who participated un this weekend’s Pro Football Arm Wrestling Championship which was held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and featured several current NFL players including James Harrison, Kenny Stills, NaVorro Bowman, and Oakland Raiders punter Marquette King.

According to the NFL, players participating in this specific event — without pre-approval — are in violation of the gambling policy and subject to discipline.

“Had we been asked in advance if this was acceptable, we would have indicated that it was in direct violation of the gambling policy,” Joe Lockhart, the NFL’s executive vice president for communications and public affairs, told USA TODAY Sports. “No one sought pre-approval.”

It appears that even with the Oakland Raiders formally approved to move to Las Vegas, the NFL is still going to make it tough for players to make appearances at nearby casinos.
