If you’ve got either a Twitter or Instagram account, then you’ve certainly seen those memes that go something along the lines of: “Died X Year, Born Y Year… Welcome back blah blah blah!”

Well, it appears as though 2024 is going to be the year that the NFL welcomes back the spirit of Jason Sehorn, as a whopping THREE white cornerbacks are expected to make NFL rosters this season.

With the Philadelphia Eagles drafted University of Iowa cornerback Cooper DeJean with the 40th overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft, there are now going to be three white cornerbacks on NFL rosters this year, in addition to Riley Moss of the Denver Broncos and Ethan Bonner of the Miami Dolphins — both of whom came into the NFL last year.

Given that DeJean is a high draft pick, Moss is heading into his second season with the Broncos and is reportedly competing for a starting job, and Bonner is reportedly making a strong case to make the Dolphins’ final 53-man roster, 2024 is shaping up to be the first time an NFL season has seen this many white CBs since the days of Jason Sehorn, who played with the New York Giants and St. Louis Rams during his nine-year NFL career. Sehorn has been the only white cornerback to be a full-time player since the turn of the century.

“For those curious about the novelty of a ‘white CB’ Riley Moss has been running away with the CB2 job in Denver,” tweeted a Broncos reporter over the weekend.

“Ethan Bonner has had the craziest jump from any player from last year. More patient at the line. Using his long arms. He can stay hip-to-hip with anyone. He’s confident. He’s playing great ball. He really is top three fastest on the team,” Dolphins star wideout Jaylen Waddle said of Bonner at the start of training camp.

While DeJean has yet to participate in team drills at training camp during injury, the Eagles’ investment of a 2nd-round pick in him ensures he’ll be given every opportunity to make an impact this season, too.
