The full details of Tiger Woods’ DUI arrest on Friday, March 27 arrest have been made public. The probable cause affidavit tied to his arrest was released Tuesday, March 31, and paints the grim picture of exactly what occurred, with Woods blaming the incident on “looking down at his phone.”

According to the arrest report, Tiger Woods’ March 27 crash — which saw him flip his vehicle over — occurred around 2 p.m. on South Beach Road in Martin County, Florida. Woods was driving a black Land Rover behind a white Ford F-150 towing a trailer.

The report states that when the truck slowed to make a turn, Woods crossed over double solid lines to pass, striking the rear of the trailer, with the impact then causing his SUV to flip onto the driver’s side. Woods allegedly told the responding officer on the scene that he looked down at his phone and did not realize the trailer had slowed, causing the crash.

Additionally, reports indicate that the iconic golfer was “sweating profusely” and had “bloodshot, glassy eyes and extremely dilated pupils,” with his movement was described as lethargic and slow. After the flip, the driver of other vehicle — identified as Jeremy Bullard — helped Woods get out of his flipped vehicle.

During a search, police found two white pills marked “M367” in his left pants pocket — identified as hydrocodone, a prescription opioid used to treat pain. When asked if he took prescription medication, Woods apparently replied, “I take a few.”

When at the Martin County Jail, Woods took a breathalyzer test and registered 0.000 on both samples, indicating that there was no alcohol. However, he refused a urine test to determine the presence of drugs, which resulted in a separate misdemeanor charge under Florida’s Trenton’s Law.

As a result of the crash, Woods faces charges of DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test.
