Woods announced the commitment on his Instagram account, and his famous father was quick to reply.

“Congratulations, Charlie. I’m so proud of you on entering this next chapter of your life,” Tiger wrote.

As high school junior this past season, Charlie helped lead The Benjamin School to its second state championship in three years, and fifth overall in program history. The junior shot a final round 4-under-par 68 at Mission Inn Resort, helping the rally for a five-shot victory over The First Academy.

Charlie finished tied for fourth overall at 2-under-par with scores of 74 and 68.

He also won the 2025 Team TaylorMade Invitational in May of last year. The victory, which came against a stacked field, marked his first win AJGA competition.

As for the Seminoles, they’ve produced 57 NCAA All-Americans and finished as the runner-up for the national championship in 2024.

Florida State has also produced a number of PGA Tour superstars, including Brooks Koepka, Paul Azinger, Hubert Green, and Jeff Sluman, who have combined to win nine major championships.
