Nissan Stadium was mostly empty at kickoff between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans on Sunday. Absolutely nobody showed up to watch two awful teams play each other in bad weather.
The crowd looked like it did back in 2020 when social distancing was still a thing, if not worse.
To be fair, this lack of attendance should not come as a surprise. Tennessee entered the weekend at 3-9. Jacksonville was 2-10. Not only are both teams at the bottom of the AFC South standings, they are two of the bottom eight teams in the entire NFL. Jaguars fans did not travel up from Florida to Nashville. Titans fans, outside of the diehard season-ticket holders, would much rather do anything else. Getting downtown is a real pain in the butt and a single stadium beer costs the same as a 30-rack at home.
If the on-field product was not bad enough, Mac Jones also started for the visitors in place of a concussed Trevor Lawrence. It was one of the worst individual matchups of the entire season.
In addition to the awful matchup of terrible teams, weather was also a factor. Temperatures hovered around 55 degrees during the game, but it was a damp 55 degrees with rain on and off throughout the afternoon.
All of these factors led to abysmal attendance. Here was the scene during the national anthem:

Fans did not arrive late for kickoff. Nissan Stadium was a ghost town.

The middle and upper decks were more empty than full.

Fans who initially sat up top eventually made their way down to the lower bowl. The mass migration did not help to improve the optics for the 200 and 300-level sections. They were largely vacant.

Although this was to be expected for a matchup of two tanking teams in bad weather, it was still a sight to behold. It might be the worst attendance for any NFL game this season.
