For the seventh time in seven years, former Auburn and LSU quarterback T.J. Finley is in search of a new home after parting ways with the Incarnate Word football program.
Finley, a former three-star recruit in the class of 2020, initially committed to LSU. But he spent just one year with the program before entering the transfer portal and heading to Auburn. He spent two seasons on the plains before yet again hitting the road and beginning a journey that sent him to Texas State, Western Kentucky, a brief stint with Tulane, Georgia State, and then, finally, Incarnate Word.
But CBS Sports now reports that Finley is yet again on the move after leaving the Cardinals football program.

T.J. Finley Is The World’s Most Well-Traveled College Football Player
Finley initially left LSU and Auburn in search of opportunities to see the field after losing multiple quarterback competitions. But his recent transfer decisions have come due to varying factors, including allegations of stealing a vehicle while at Tulane.
Finley strongly denied those allegations. His legal counsel stated he is a victim of a scam, believing he purchased the truck legitimately from a seller in Atlanta. However, Finley left the program before he could even take a snap for the Green Wave following an indefinite suspension.
Ultimately, Finley found his way to Georgia State, where he appeared in seven games, throwing for 1,244 yards, six touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
He then entered the transfer portal again, landing at FCS program Incarnate Word, which is most notable for producing 2025 NFL Draft No. 1 pick Cam Ward.
Ward began his career with the program as an unrated recruit before transferring to Washington State and later Miami.
Finley, meanwhile, seemingly tried to follow the opposite path, dropping down a level with each successive transfer His next move, however, is anyone’s guess.
