Each and every college basketball season we see some absolutely atrocious calls made by referees and while it may be early in the season, we may have already witnessed the worst call we’ll see all year.

Notre Dame played host to Toledo on Thursday night which was actually a very entertaining game with the Irish winning 64-62 in overtime, but nothing was as wild during the contest as this absolutely horrendous offensive foul call on Notre Dame.

I mean, what is there to say about this? It’s such a bad call, you literally can’t make a worse call than that.

The only explanation here is that the ref somehow thought the Notre Dame player coming around to receive the pass pushed the Toledo defender, but that’s a stretch. Who are we kidding here? I think the ref may have closed his eyes for a couple of seconds, opened them and saw two players on the floor and had to make a call.

That’s the only explanation here, the ref had a brain fart of all brain farts.

Notre Dame head coach Mike Brey exploded on the bench, and rightfully so, and somehow didn’t get into a fistfight with the referee.

Notre Dame held Toledo scoreless in overtime until Toledo’s Marreon Jackson hit a three-quarter court, meaningless shot at the buzzer cutting the Irish winning margin to two.
