The Buffalo Bills offense mustered just 12 points in the team’s Week 17 home loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, and were held scoreless throughout the first three quarters of the game.
While MVP quarterback Josh Allen has largely been given a pass this season and has been credited with carrying the Bills’ offense, future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady certainly seemed to believe that Allen deserved some of the blame, at least based on his analysis of the game.
During the call of Sunday’s game between the Bills and Eagles, Brady was critical of Allen’s handling of the offensive line’s protections.
Tom Brady was quite critical of Josh Allen’s management of the Buffalo Bills’ offensive line in their loss to the Philadelphia Eagles
“Bad protection adjustment there by Josh Allen … He’s in control of protections, he wants the line to account for a blitzing linebacker, but he picked the wrong choice. That’s Josh’s responsibility to get that protection straightened out,” Brady said on a 2nd & 9 play.
“It’s pretty interesting the protection schemes that Joe Brady & this offense have used today. They’re sending a lot of 5 man eligible receivers out into their routes today, which leaves you often times one on one with this pass rush …. They’re [Eagles] putting pressure on Allen, and the Bills haven’t quite adjusted to this kinda frenetic style of pass rush the Eagles have had today,” he added after 2nd & 18.
“Look at these tackles … It’s a meeting at the QB. This is called throwing out of a well. You can’t step up, can’t go right, can’t go left … No way for a QB to be able to make accurate throws consistently,” his concluded his analysis on 3rd & 15.
Tom Brady talked a lot about pass protection on that last Bills drive:
