With his career as an NFL analyst with Fox Sports set to begin this Fall, Tom Brady has begun the process of warming up his on-air skills, as he’s recently made a couple of appearances across Fox Sports programs.

Over the weekend, Tom Brady unexpectedly made his Fox broadcasting debut when he popped up to call the UFL Championship game, before appearing on the radio show The Herd with Colin Cowherd on Wednesday.

During his appearance on Cowherd’s show, Brady was talking about the importance of offensive line play and how heavily it relies on good coaching, believing he played with the best O-Line coach of all time in Dante Scarnecchia.

While he was speaking, Brady gave a telling insight into his feelings on the current crop of talent in the NFL, as he added that there’s currently only about “six to eight” good quarterback in the NFL.

“So much of great )-Line play is a great O-Line coach, and I think we can talk about there’s not a lot of great O-Line coaches anymore,” Brady said.

“[Former Dallas Cowboys head coach] Jimmie Johnson has said for years,” Cowherd interjected. “There are about six good ones [offensive line coaches] on the planet at any one time.”

“Absolutely,” Brady said. “And there’s probably about six to eight good quarterbacks on the planet. And there’s probably about six to eight good head coaches, and six to eight good defensive coordinators.”

As for the six to eight quarterbacks Brady is referencing, Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, and Matthew Stafford are likely on TB12’s list. As for who numbers seven and eight would be, perhaps a case could be made for players ike Jalen Hurts or Dak Prescot. Young QBs such as C.J. Stroud and Jordan Love are also talents to keep an eye on as far as being an elite QB is concerned.
