Like him or not, it’s hard to argue that Tom Brady is anything other than the greatest quarterback in NFL history. However, Brady was not exactly known for his remarkable athleticism.
Sure, Brady had a strong arm. But it wasn’t exactly a cannon, and while he ran a little early in his career, nobody would dare call Brady a “good” runner. What made Brady special was his remarkable accuracy and the speed at which he could process a defense.
Well, it turns out his eldest son, Jack Moynahan, got his father’s athleticism, for better and worse.
Jack Moynahan Traded In Football For Basketball
Moynahan, who turned 18 in August, is the child of Brady and actress/model Bridget Moynahan. The two were never married and had broken up by the time Jack was born, which is part of why he took his mother’s last name.
But Jack definitely got his father’s genes. The 18-year-old is 6-foot-6 according to MaxPreps, taller than his 6-foot-4 father, and plays forward/center for the Riverdale Falcons basketball team.
Jack’s highlight tape, which his social media on Thursday, quickly went viral. The video has over 5,000 likes on X and hundreds of retweets.
However, despite getting his dad’s height, he also seemingly picked up Tom’s lack of explosiveness. Moynahan’s highlights are decidedly, uh, below the rim.
“Are we just gonna ignore that he’s Kevin McHale reincarnated???” one person asked on X.
“Plays like he’s from the 60’s. This is exactly how I’d picture TB12 balling,” said another.
Thankfully, we don’t just have to imagine what that looks like. Last year, Brady posted a video of him and Jack playing in a pickup game against one another, and their games are extremely similar.
For those wondering, Jackson does play football in addition to basketball, as well as lacrosse. Although it doesn’t appear he has a professional future in any of the three.
