Former NFL quarterback, Tony Romo is teeing it up on the PGA Tour this week. He is not just playing as an amateur in a Pro-am, either. He is actually in the field, competing with PGA Tour professionals in this week’s opposite field event the Corales Puntacana Resort and Club Championship. Why is Tony Romo in the field? Well, since the tournament is playing second fiddle to the Dell Match Play Championship, the sponsors probably hope that putting Romo in the field will help with viewership the same way Stephen Curry helped the exposure for the Web.com Tour’s Ellie Mae Classic. Time will tell if it does.
Since Romo is actually in the field, oddsmakers at BetDSI Sportsbook have given retired NFL quarterback betting odds. Currently, Romo’s odds of making the cut are 15/1. In comparison, at last year’s Ellie Mae Classic, Steph Curry’s odds to make the cut were 9/1.
